How to Crop an Image

1

Add your photo

Drop an image into the editor, paste it from the clipboard, or click to browse. It opens in your browser memory in a moment.

Tip: you can queue several photos and keep a separate crop for each one.

2

Frame, straighten and align

Drag the eight handles for a free crop, or lock an aspect ratio. Straighten with the slider, rotate in 90° steps, flip, and switch on thirds or golden guides.

Turn on Fill the frame so straightening never leaves blank corners, and use Trim borders for scans.

3

Export at full resolution

Download the cropped image, or send the whole queue to a ZIP. Choose PNG, JPG or WebP and a custom output size if you need one.

Tip: Apply crop to all copies the relative frame to every queued photo — ideal for product shots and social sets.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this crop tool really free?

Yes. Every feature — free crop, aspect presets, straighten, batch cropping and full-resolution export — is free, with no sign-up and no watermark.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Your photos are opened from your device and processed on a canvas inside your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere.

How do I crop to an exact aspect ratio?

Pick a preset such as 1:1, 4:5 or 16:9, or type a custom ratio. The frame then keeps that ratio while you drag its handles or move it.

What does Fill the frame do?

When you rotate or straighten a photo, the image can leave empty corners. Fill the frame zooms the photo just enough to cover the crop box, so the result never contains blank edges.

Can I straighten a tilted photo?

Yes. Use the Straighten slider for fine angles up to 45° in either direction, or the rotate buttons for 90° turns. Everything updates live.

What does Trim borders do?

It detects a uniform border around your image — for example a white scan edge or a solid colour frame — and moves the crop frame inside it automatically.

Can I crop several photos at once?

Yes. Add a batch, set the crop on one photo, then use Apply crop to all. Relative framing, rotation and output settings are copied to every image in the queue, and you can download them together as a ZIP.

Does cropping reduce the image quality?

No. Cropping only removes pixels outside the frame. The remaining pixels are exported at full resolution; if you choose a larger custom output size, the result is resampled smoothly.
