Frequently asked questions

How does the AI colorizer work?

A DDColor neural network predicts the two colour channels for your photo while keeping its original brightness, then recombines them at full resolution.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. The model runs entirely in your browser with ONNX Runtime Web. Your images never leave your device.

Which photos work best?

True black-and-white or sepia photos with clear subjects and reasonable contrast. Very dark or heavily damaged scans are harder.

Does it change the image size?

No. The colorized image keeps the exact original width and height.

Can I colorize many photos at once?

Yes. Add up to 10 images and they are colorized with the same settings, then downloaded together as a ZIP.

Is it free and watermark-free?

Yes. Pixia tools are free, need no signup and never add a watermark.
